L LVL? 0CL6L Stepping out through a red paper lace heart ns the l954 Sweetheart freshman Mary Marrns The presentatlon was made at the annual Sweetheart dance held an the gym aft er school February I2 The smul ng Sweetheart was glven a large bouquet cf red carnations by Prnnclpal Kenneth Burkholder Profnts from the dance went unto the actuvltues fund Sensor Sally Smuth and gunlor Jack Mleynek relgned as Lnon and Lamb at the Luon and Lamb dance held after school un the gym March ll As sn all other school electrons all candldates w e r e nomlnated by lndnvldual clubs Those buying a tucket to the dance were able to vote for the couple of thelr cholce A grand march followed the presentatnon Sophomore Judy Jones was elected Mass N C O by the cadets In O4l at the thnrd an nual Chevron Shuffle held March 26 Other flnallsts were Mary Morris Marulyn Dennis Judy Kuykendall and Jane Wlllnamson The promotlons of all non commlssloned offlcers were also announced The profnt from the dance went unto the fund for the new audl torlum curtanns purchased this year Mr Burkholder helps Sweetheart Mary Moms adlust her bou quet before the Grand March Llon Jack Mleynek and Lamb Sally Smnth dlsplay awards at annual March dance Judy Jones IS first Mlss N C O presented at the Chevron Shuffle and chosen by the R O TC companies ll I . Cjlfbfefefff The thurd annual Homecomnng Queen sen lor Dlxle Ehler was revealed November 6 durnng the half at the North South game Queen Dlxne and her attendants walked on to the fleld as the band played The Sweet heart of Sigma Chu Dnxse also relgned over the Homecomlng dance which was held that night un the school cateterna Christy Cox and Bob Trumbauer were re vealed as the l953 Kung and Queen of Sports at the annual Polar Football Banquet Novem ber I9 The banquet was given to congratulate the teams and coaches for the seasons work Annta Follum Polar president gave the wel coming speech whale the sensor prophecies were read by Donna Behrens Betts Coleman Bob Kolb, and Bob Trumbauer Here comes Santa Claus Here comes San ta Claus Right down Santa Claus lane played the dance band as Christmas Belle Dux me Ehler and Santa Claus Jerry Meehan were presented at the tenth annual Chrustmas Belle dance The after school atfalr was unaugu rated nn l944 by Mlss Alice B Crocker chalr man of the actlvltles committee Candrdates applaud DIXIE Ehler as she IS revealed as Home com ng Queen Queen Chrusty Cox puns a flower on the lapel of the Kang of Sports Bob Trumbauer Santa Jerry Meehan and Chrnstmas Belle Dnxne Ehler greet holrdays wlth radnant smiles
