8 lfl,Ll 8 VL? 6 6LlfL 85 The more than 95 pictures and paintings hanging in the halls and classrooms were ob tained through the activity fund W P A proi ects or presented as gifts from classes and in dividuals A gradual modernization ofthe building has included the changing of the tan color of the walls to softer pastel shades Acoustic board recently installed in the office and the cafeteria tends to lessen the noise of Vikings whether working or eating lunch at noontime Five years ago a new electronic bell system was installed to replace the outmoded method of manual op ration l95l brought new cafeteria tables topped with light green lucite and blond wood chairs A new cafeteria work room was made in i952 and new steel tray racks were added this year One of the greatest and most welcome im- provements came this year in the form of new stage curtains-the first since i924-at a cost of over 38000. Future plans fo lthe modernization and im- provement of t ilding call ror the installa- tion of fluo e ent ligh in all rooms.
