One ofthe highlights of the season was the annual Military Ball held at Peony Park Janue ary 6. The Crack Squad performed and the new officers were revealed. The new Lieu- tenant Colonel and his lady were Gerdon Fah- land and Rae Johnson. The R.O.T.C. band gave a concert before the entrance of the officers and their ladies in the Grand March. The Battalion Rifle Team captained by Frank Sedlacek, competed with other high school rifle teams and with the Girls' Rifle team at North. The l43 members of the R.O,T.C. were un- der the direction of Captain John l-l. Williard, assistant professor of military science and tactics. l-le was assisted by Sgt. Edgar l-l. Haynes and Sgt. E, J. Cronkhite.
