Ten of the schoolis finest artists are appointed to this club, and under Mr. Fromuth's direction these young artists improve and develop their artistic ability. Their art work is used for special projects undertaken by the school, for assembly programs, posters, and various announcements. The members go on excursions to gain experience in painting and sketching. XVe should look to this group for the outstanding artists of the coming years. 37 f 5 x wx ll W X 5'4- .5 X4 0 Aa- -iE? The proof of their realization of this fact is their tremendous participation in the circulation of this paper. For many years, the Highlights, has won numerous honors for the material that has been published and the manner in which this material has been written. In room 231, where the staff works, there is always an atmosphere of business, ac- tivity, and hard work. Mr. Hurowitz, under whose sponsorship the staff works, helps to solve any difficult problems that might arise. The participants in this outstanding organization are kept busy throughout the week. There is a mass rehearsal Friday, some special entertainment program in which they perform Friday or Saturday evening, and Sunday evenings they are usually engaged in singing at church services. Often, they perform for the students in assembly. This famous organization is certainly a representative and commend- able asset to our school. 55 Sponsor-MR. Many of us felt energetic, and so we climbed the mountain. After Wearing ourselves out with enjoyment, we Went back to the boat. As We boarded the boat We all bade farewell to the mountain which we would never forget. Once on the boat, we again picked up where we had left off, still full of life. The trip home was really lovely. New York was like a picture with her lighted skyline. As we passed the Statue of Liberty for the second time, we felt lumps in our throats to see her with the spotlights shining on her. Everyone stood on the deck singing God Bless Americaf' We were soon back in Jersey City where we boarded our train for home. We were all too exhausted to move, so for the first time that day, We sat still. Since most of us had lost our voices, we couldn,t even sing. We arrived in Philadelphia at 11:30, and somehow managed to stagger off the train and head for home. Our class trip is a day that none of us will ever forget, and it will be remembered as the most wonderful experience in our high school days. W X ,,, I.:- N2 fal- J X!!
