Universal history is at bottom the history of the great men who have worked here. -'kHeroes and Hero Vxforshipf' Carlyle. Olney history is made by the ability and achievements of its capable student leaders. Norman Kron, as our splendid Student Association President, led us inspirf ingly and wcll during our senior term. Doris Cutler, who served as vicefpresident, competently and eagerly assisted our president in making our last semester at Olney the best ever. Mcmrris Goldberg, another outstanding citizen of Olney, ably iilled the position of president of the Senate. Cooperation, leadership, conscientiousness and actual accomplishments were what made this last S. A. Administration of our school for us the most efficient in its history. Because this last term was our term, and these last ofhcers our oiiicers, We apologetically disregard their capable predecessors and name them the most excellent and outstanding leaders of the Olney S. A. UFFICERS

lwi Eggg' S. A. SPUNSURS We extend our deepest and sincerest gratitude to our S. A. sponsors, Mr. Waidelich, Mr. Glenn, and Mr. Oeste, who have, by their kind assistance and helpful instruction, instilled in our hearts an everlasting love for Democracy. Their efficient management of the S. A. government and affairs produced another successful admin' istration. They quietly stood in the background giving advice to the oflicers and representatives. They made us see that a democratic form of government by and for the people was the only form that could endure. This we shall remember long after we have forgotten the other things we learned in school. It is impossible that we give these three splendid Americans all the praise due to them, for we know not the numerous deeds they have accomplished as S. A. sponsors. We can only again say, 'LOur deepest gratitude to you, Mr. Waidelich, Mr. Glenn, and Mr. Oeste for your lesson in Democracy-we shall never forget it.

SENATE The members of the Class of june 1939 pay tribute to the Senate, which has completed a successful term under the competent leadership of S. Morris Goldberg. We feel that the Senate extended its help throughout the student body by presenting awards to deserving teams and students, collecting student welfare donations, and completing the unfinished work of the House of Representatives. Two members of our class gave their assistance to this helpful body. They were George Checkum and Elsie Klein.
