J U N E STUDENTS ASSOCIATION E are not only indebted to our books for our cultural develop- ment: we are likewise indebted to the advanced system of student participation in Olney which was offered us as an oppor- tunity to apply the knowledge we gained from our books to our practical school life. We of Olney have received practical experience in conducting civil affairs and in solving civil prob- lems. We have undertaken, along with the rest of the Students' Association, the responsibility of electing president, vice-president, senators, and representatives. We have been faced With the problem of selecting students who are best equipped for the Student Association offices. Such students have relieved teachers of all monitorial duties. Under the able guidance and inspiration of the Student Association sponsors-Mr. Oeste, Mr. Glenn, and Mr. Waidelich-the elected officers have had the added responsi- bility of acting on legislation concerning school welfare. Hence we, the graduating class, do not feel that we are en- tering, inexperienced, into a world entirely foreign to us. Instead, we rather feel that we are entering a world similar to that which we have just left. It operates on a grander scale: its problems are far more complex, its demands are greater. But, because of our experience at Olney, we are not afraid to meet them. ., !
