Dobson leads Eagles to successful year The Eagle baseball team put together their Sth straight winning season with a 24-19 record. Also, for the 7th year in a row, earned a spot in the District 9 NAIA playsoffs held at All-Sports Stadium. The Eagles were not as potent as they had hoped to be, however, pitching became the sore spot on the team as two of the Eagles' top pitchers, Keith Schimmel and David Walker, sustained arm injuries early in the season. This left the bulk of the pressure on senior Norm Easter and junior Calvin Klugh. The bright spots for 77-78 Eagles were in their hitting ability and defense. GETTING a tight grip on his bat, Miles Lawrence prepares to score another Eagle run. THE 1978 EAGLE BASEBALL TEAM: Row 1: Calvin Klugh, Roy Price, Miles Lawrence, Eddie Wisdom, Speedy Faith, Robert Swarb, Steve Goodnight. Gary Huntsman, Kevin Hixon, Mike Kerlick, Mitch Dickinson. Row 2: Keith Lough, Eric Percival. Burl Butler, David Walker, Alan Hoffhines, Keith Shimmel, Tony Collier, Kerry Tremain, Kris White, Wayne Jenkins, Jay Brad' dy, Bruce Tallon, Norm Easter, Doug Spearman, and Coach Max Dobson. . ., .
