Row 3: Robert Boudreau, Barry Hall, Joe Reese, ACS promotes professional interest in science The American Chemical Society is a club promoting professional interest in science. The Club sponsored several events, including the film The Mind of Man, speakers on current issues, and similar events. The club, which is spon- sored by Dr, Roland Schultz, also set up the College's telescopes for students to use during the year. The organization is open to all interested students majoring in biology, chemistry. math, computer science, physics, and other related science.

Debate Team on Road To Win Speech Honors The Debate Team traveled to Speech tournaments in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Colorado. They placed fifth in the National Junior Divi- sion Debate Tournament, qualified two people for the Nationals in individual events, and won about fifteen trophies. A comparatively young team, com- posed mainly of freshmen, the Debate Team gained tournament experience for next year. Angela Laird sponsored the Debate Team. DEBATE: Richard Ellis, LuEIlen Sexton. Emory Team practices business skill in game The Emory Team competed against around 32 other private colleges in a simulated business game which developed their skills in the fields of finance, marketing, productions, and communications. Each college, or business, made two decisions a week and sent them to an IBM computer. These decisions, after competition, determined whether they lost or gained money. This business game helped students to gain knowledge and ex- perience in making business decisions. Four members traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to give oral presentations.
