SMOCK Professor of Elementary Education Eighteen winters and eighteen summers has she toiled on the O.B.U. campus to produce better teachers. Hundreds of Oklahoma public school teachers have known the impress of her personality. No mere technician, she is truly a philosopher of education. She teaches by the example of character, at once inflexible and com- passionate. Blackboards, textbooks, and lesson plans are the tools of her craft, but the quality of the teacher is her greatest concern. The children of democracy's schools, today and tomorrow, are in her debt.
