Mu5i'C Activities The music department of Okanogan High School had a very active year during 1957-58 under the able leadership of Darrell Callahan, Band officers for 1957-S8 were Jerry Rawley, president, Bob Mc- Intosh, vice president, Mary Ann Rawson, secretary-treasurer, Carol Brady, secretary, and Carolyn Neilson and Don DeVon, librarians, Choir officers were Butch Holt, president, Fred McCul1ey, vice president, Manny Miner, secretary-treasurer, and Janet Ekkelkamp and Miriam Paup, librarians, Band started the year with a concert, combined with Omak's High School Band, on September 6, Part of the Band went to Omak on September 17 and 21, to do some sight reading in what is called a Band Clinic, The Band played for all home football and basketball games, and all the plays during the year, Honor Band was held in Tonasket on November 9, Several students attended, A Winter Band concert was given February 18, County Mass Band and Choir was in Omak, March 8, and the Choir held a concert on April 9, The County Music Festival was held in Oroville, March 22, Sev- eral Okanogan musicians participated in the festival, Solos 'were played by Bob McIntosh, trombone, Donna Nichols, oboe, Mary Ann Rawsoq baritone, and clarinet solos by Jerry Hawley, Carol Brady, and Annette Walters, The final Band concert of the year was on May 9, The final per- formance of the Band was at Commencement exercises on May 29, Dance Band members were Mike Conner, pianog Eddie Johnson, drums, Jerry Rawley, Wayne Dezellem, and Jack Lemons, saxophones, Trombone players were Bob Mclntosh and Phil Leaton. Trumpet players were Don DeVon, Tom Pewthers, and Duane Dezellem. A newly formed novelty group this year was the German Band, Mem- bers were Don Devon, trumpetg Mike Conner, bass drum, Bob Mclntosh, trombone, Eddie Johnson, snare drum, Fred McCulley, bass horn, Jerry Rawley, first clarinet, and Steve Hodgson, second clarinet,
