Long Stewart opened for the affirmative and made two points which the judges failed to get because he stuttered slightly. Rev. Stewart led out for the negative and in rebutting the two points of his opponent made them so plain that the judges got them. At this juncture it was discovered that the two remaining debaters had left, whereupon Long and Rev. Stewart gave their speeches again, and one rebuttal was dispensed with. The other rebuttal was dis- pensed with also. The judges voted unanimously to call it a draw. During the wrangle which followed. Jim Metcow talked on newspaper work among the Hottentots. Lucile Naylor recited one of her Pa ' s poems. Clarence Liggett gave a stereopticon lecture on Girls, Their (are and Training.
