wareness, conflict, change-this is the Ohio State story, 1962, the year apathy went out and em- pathy came in. Vital roles in this change were played by a disciplined student government, a forceful campus newspaper, an adult-like student body, and administra- tive leaders who looked and listened to what Ohio State students had to say. The impetus for this year's activi- ties was set last spring when students demonstrated against compulsory ROTC, which resulted in a change of requirements. Students' awareness in this one area preceeded a host of others in which they took an active part, sometimes with parades and signs, sometimes with committees, petitions, and letters to the editor. The pictorial record of changes in 1962 is in this book, the editor's tribute to the student body.
