ig, hrough demonstrations, speeches, and a free society's most powerful instrument-the vote, Ohio State students used their right of express- ion to the fullest in the 1961-62 year. Over 7,000 students a record num- ber, elected a student body president by popular vote for the first time in history. Faculty decisions were not always met with silence. Students dem- onstrated against the course dropping rule which limits students the privilege of dropping a course. A negative decision by the Faculty Coun- cil keeping the football team out of the Rose Bowl brought a demonstra- tion which led from campus to the Statehouse. t wasn't surprising that Ohio State was so successful all year since things were happening all over the world. Perhaps world progress provided some of the incentive for all systems go at Ohio State. A new master plan was approved meaning that Ohio State will go across the river. As students listened to Cana- veral happenings and gazed up at new dorms and class- rooms, they became aware of a changing campus and a changing world. L..
