ig, hrough demonstrations, speeches, and a free society's most powerful instrument-the vote, Ohio State students used their right of express- ion to the fullest in the 1961-62 year. Over 7,000 students a record num- ber, elected a student body president by popular vote for the first time in history. Faculty decisions were not always met with silence. Students dem- onstrated against the course dropping rule which limits students the privilege of dropping a course. A negative decision by the Faculty Coun- cil keeping the football team out of the Rose Bowl brought a demonstra- tion which led from campus to the Statehouse.
