17, Gow, We dedicate this to Dr. Charles F. Kettering, for invaluable contributions to humanity as scientist, humanitarian, philosopher, and American. He served the University as Trustee for 25 years and as incorporator of the Ohio State Research Foundation Dr. Kettering once said: Keep on going-and the chances are that you will stumble on something worthwhile perhaps when you are least expecting it. I have never heard of anyone stumbling on anything sitting down. His life exemplified this belief.

We Came to the University and Discovered Not knowing what to expect, we were confused at first, hut we found our places. Not everything was different from homeg many times there was only a new way of doing the same familiar things. We learned to get along with others in living units and found it different to share a room with a stranger instead of a sister or brother. We learned to make decisions on our own- whether it was more important to accept a date or cram for a midterm. We participated in campus theatre groups, government, religious foundations. Our lives became synonymous with the life of Ohio State. We learned and thought and, in the process, matured. The diplomas were in our hands.
