Decker OHIO Statl placed its cheering assignment in good hands when it turned over the megaphone to Herb Decker. One of the big accomplishments of the year was the organization of a Block O of student rooters by Decker, Bucket and Dipper, and the Student Senate. This Block O , featuring the Scarlet and Gray colors, served as a nucleus for the entire cheering section and added much color and spirit to the fontball games. Decker and his assistants. Paul James, Russell Saxby, Eugene Uncle, and William Cherry, were responsible for some of the best cheering ever heard in the stadium. Whether it was doing a snake dance, turning flip-flops, or Decker diving over the heads of his assistants, the whole squad showed that necessary pep and precision of movement so essential to effective, collective cheering. The Student Senate re- flected the approval of the student body by reelecting Decker cheerleader for the coming year. Gentlemen uj the C ie [ 4 ]
