COLONEL CLAUDE H. B1Rnsf EYE took post-graduate work at Ohio State University. He has the distinction of be' ing one of the first men to go by boat through the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River in 1923, and map the can' yon. He is a topographical engineer with the United States Geographical Survey in Washington. GEORGE M. BELLows, ex' 1905, was Ohio State's great' est contribution to the realm of art. He was prefeminent as a lithographer as well as an artist. In 1908 he was awarded a great many prizes by various worldfknown clubs and institutions. BERTHA LAMME FEICHT ref ceived her Electrical and Mechanical Engineering de' grces in 1883, and was the Hrst woman to receive the def gree of electrical engineering. She was formerly connected with the designing department of the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company. DR. G. GLENN ATKINS ref ceived his degree of B. A. in 1888 and is now on the fac' ulty of Auburn Seminary at Auburn, New York. He won the C h u r c h Peace Union prize for an essay on inter- national peace, and is the auf thor of many religious books. FRANK W. RANE graduated in 1891, and is now a state forester and agriculturist in Florida, where he has made some very valuable investiga' tions. ROBERT F. GRIGGS, who ref ceived his B. Sc. degree in 1903, has gained a reputa' tion as an explorer, received through his work as a botan- ist. He discovered the Valf ley of 10,000 Smokes in Katmai District, Alaska, while with a government expedition in 1915-1916. He is on the faculty of George Washing' ton University. JOHN KRAMER of the class of 1902 is a trustee of Ohio Northern University, and was a representative in the Ohio Legislature for two terms. CHARLES F. KETTERING re- ceived his M. E. and E. E. degrees here in 1904. He is the inventor of lighting and starting systems for automo' biles and the inventor of the individual power plant for farms. He was chairman of the committee which designed the Liberty motor, which was so extensively used during the World War.

OLIVER FASSIG graduated in 1882 and has been connected with the United States WCiltl1Cl' Bureau since 1919, and is in charge of the West Indies and Carribean Service. He is also the editor of many hooks on meterology. jAMEs F. LINCOLN received his degree at Ohio State Uni' versity in 1926. He is the president of the Ohio State University Association, and is one of the owners of the Lin' coln Electric Company. GEORGE SMART, class of 1886, was the editor of Iron Age heiore his death several years ago. DOROTPIY CANFIELD FISHER received her degree in 1899. She has written such well' known books as Rough Hewn, The Brimming Cup, Home Fires in France, Raw Material and The Home Maker. Her latest work is My Son's Wife. Her father is a for' mer president of Ohio State University. RALPH D. MERSHON graduf ated in 1890, and is the inf vcntor of a sixfchase rotary converter, compounded conf verter system o lighting pro' tection for electrical appara- tus and a compensating volt' meter for which he was awarded the John Scott medal hy the Franklin Institute. THOMAS E. FRENCH, of the class of 1895, is the head of the Department of Engineer' ing Drawing at Ohio State University. He is a world authority on lettering and his textbooks on architecture and engineering drawing are used throughout the world. CLYDE T. MoRRIs, a graduf ate of the class of 1898, is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Ohio State University. He helped draw the plans for our mam' moth stadium. DR. FRANCIS C. Woon, path' ologist, received his B. Se. de' gree in 1891. He is now prof fessor and director of cancer research work of the George Croker Special Research Fund at Columbia University.
