ARTHUR S. HCDFFMAN, grad' uated in 1897, is a former editor of Adventure, and was made editor of Na' tional Magazine and Mc' Clure's. ' ELLIOTT NUGENT, who grad' uated in 1919, is best known as an actor and a playwright. He is the author of The Poor Nut and Kempy and acted in both. CARMI THOMPSON, who rc' ceived his B. A. degree in 1892 and his LL. B. degree x in 1895, is best known to the 'student body as a Candidate for governor of Ohio in 1922. He was formerly treasurer of the United States, assistant secretary of the interior, sec' retary to President Taft and secretary of the state of Ohio. NORMAN W. Sroaiziz, of the class of 1891. He is con' nected with the Westiiiglicause Electric and Manufacturing Company. He has taken a prominent part in the devel' opment of the electric loco' motives and in the electrih- cation of railways. Dix. MARK FRANCIS, who re' ceived his degree in veterin- ary medicine at Ohio State in 1887. He is famous for his introduction of methods of producing immunity to Texas fever by subcutaneous injecf tions w i t li serum prepared from diseased cattle. At pres' ent he is best known for his startling discoveries in the cure for tularemia. ,-uf -au.. RENICK DLINLAI' graduated in 1895. He is an agricul' tural scientist and was assist' ant United States secretary of agriculture. He was a former football captain at Ohio State. BENJAMIN T. Bixooics gradu- ated in 1906 and has been the consulting chemist of the Mathieson Alkali Wcnrks since 1924. Hs is a fellow of the Mellon Institute at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. DR. Rov D.McCi.uau was a member of the class of 1904. He is at present on the surgi- cal stalf of the Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He is noted for his operations on the brain.

WILLIAM MCTPPIERSON grad' uated in 1895. He has been dean of the Graduate School at Ohio State University since 1911, and was acting presi' dent ofthe university in 1924. He is the author of a series of textbooks on chemistry. LOWRY SATER, of the class of 1895, IS now a lawyer in Co' lumbus. He is a past presif dent of the Ohio State Uni' versity Association. RAYMOND M. Huoncs was a fellow in chemistry at Ohio State University from 1895' 1897, receiving his M. A. in 1897. Until this year he was president of Miami Univer' sity, and is now president of Iowa State University. MARTHA KOEHNE received her degree of B. A. in 1908 and her M. A. in 1910. She is now a recognized authority on child nutrition and die' tetics. At the present time she is on the faculty of the University of Tennessee. GENERAL WILLIAM C. LANG' FITT was in charge of all engineering supplies, construe' tion and forestry, light rail' ways, road and motor trans' portation in the American Expeditionary Forces abroad during the World War. He is a major in the Engineers' Corps of the United States Army. CHARLES F. MARVIN received his M. E. degree here in 1883 and has been head of the United States Weather Bu' reau since 1913. His latest recommendation to progress is a thirteenfmonth calendar year, each month to have twentyfeigbt days, and the seventh month to be known as Solstice GEORGE CALKINS, of the class of 1895, is connected with the General Electric Com' pany. He has written several treatises on electrical engif neering, on which he is an authority. PAUL M. LINCOLN, director of the School of Electrical Engineering at Cornell Uni' versity, received his degree here in 1892.

OLIVER FASSIG graduated in 1882 and has been connected with the United States WCiltl1Cl' Bureau since 1919, and is in charge of the West Indies and Carribean Service. He is also the editor of many hooks on meterology. jAMEs F. LINCOLN received his degree at Ohio State Uni' versity in 1926. He is the president of the Ohio State University Association, and is one of the owners of the Lin' coln Electric Company. GEORGE SMART, class of 1886, was the editor of Iron Age heiore his death several years ago. DOROTPIY CANFIELD FISHER received her degree in 1899. She has written such well' known books as Rough Hewn, The Brimming Cup, Home Fires in France, Raw Material and The Home Maker. Her latest work is My Son's Wife. Her father is a for' mer president of Ohio State University. RALPH D. MERSHON graduf ated in 1890, and is the inf vcntor of a sixfchase rotary converter, compounded conf verter system o lighting pro' tection for electrical appara- tus and a compensating volt' meter for which he was awarded the John Scott medal hy the Franklin Institute. THOMAS E. FRENCH, of the class of 1895, is the head of the Department of Engineer' ing Drawing at Ohio State University. He is a world authority on lettering and his textbooks on architecture and engineering drawing are used throughout the world. CLYDE T. MoRRIs, a graduf ate of the class of 1898, is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Ohio State University. He helped draw the plans for our mam' moth stadium. DR. FRANCIS C. Woon, path' ologist, received his B. Se. de' gree in 1891. He is now prof fessor and director of cancer research work of the George Croker Special Research Fund at Columbia University.
