The ride was terrific and upon paying the fare I found it was one of my old classmates, Bob Mosier, Iwent into the hotel and walking up to the desk was stunned to find Gloria Adams so far away from home. She assigned me my room and called the bell hop, who was none other than Wally Smith, her husband. In my room I picked up a magazine with beautiful red and yellow apples on the cover and found they were grown and photographed by .Toe Hertel. That evening Gloria and I took in a boxing match which featured Carl Johnson as the winner, En route to California where I had a lovely summer home, I stopped at Washinton to see my state senator .Tack Wallick. We had a nice chat and Jack told me to be sure and stop in to see Dick Good who was a salesman for a large hairpin factory in Pittsburgh. I was very sorry to find Dick out touring the world following in the footsteps of his uncles While being so close I had time to stop off at Ohio City to visit my parents and learn more about my classmates. teaching the first grade and Mr, Leiendecker now Superintendent, is still teaching chemistry and drinking instant coffee while grading papers .Tim Witten has taken all the blue ribbons at the fairs with his sheep. The classes enjoy going out to Lester and .Tayne's bowling alley, a new sport center in the community. .Toyce Ayers having changed her name to Mrs. lives on a nice estate in Rockford. .Tim Carr has monopolized the block formerly owned by Zeigler's and has a new Super Market and 6 Big Sohio Service Stations. I bought my fare to Indianapolis and reading the Fort Wayne paper saw Irene Merkle was Chief nurse of St, Joe Hospital. In Indianapolis Danny Sutton has been appointed President of the Indianapolis Wig Company. I had to change trains in Des Moines Iowa and while waiting, stopped out to see .Toanne and Deloyd. Their farm and family keep them quite busy. My next stop was Denver Colorado. There I found Mary Wittung was busy on the Army Base running the canteen. Deciding to fly on home Iwas happy to find Alice Custer, the stewardess on the plane. When I got off the plane Imet Max Kohn, he was going back East to get a lawyer to take care of his matrimonial. mistakes. That evening on returning, Rosalyn Clouse and I attended a theatrical production starring Martha Clouse as a ballet dancer. Rosalyn is a secretary to the Movie star Jerry Lewis and loves his songs. Iwas very sorry to have missed seeing General Rex Hurless who had visited California during my tour, He was on his way to the home for worn out Generals. I'm sure the world was benefited by the honorable class of 1952 and I can rest easy again knowing that they all made good for themselves Barbara Cowgill 18
