In the year 1948, our class of '52 entered high school, There were 28 stu- dents. During this year, three more stu- dents enteredour class. Deloyd Rickard and Carl Johnson guided. us through our firstyear with the help of Mr. Hamp- shire, our sponsor. During our second year, Joanne Wise was our Presidentg Barbara Cowgill, Vice-Presidentg and our sponsor was Mr. Green. We chose our class colors, rose and gray, and our class flower, the pink rose. Our class motto was chosen, The Way ls Hard, But The Prize ls Great. During that year we had a Halloween party at Rex Hurless', aChristmas party at Irene and Lester Merkle's. We also had a Weiner roast at Rockford. We had a cake raffle which helped our treasury increase, We also in our sophomore year lost Vernon Pontsler and Melba Agler. Now in our third year we are trying to gain a higher education. We now have Z3juniors. Our leaders for this year are Dick Good, Presidentg Barbara Cowgill, Vice-Presidentg Joanne Wise, Secretaryg Rosalyn Clouse, Treasurer, and Alice Custer, Historian. We gained Danny Sutton this year. We had a party at Joanne Wise's. On November 3, 1950, we had our class play, Do, Re, Me. It was quite a success. To Mr. Cress, our sponsor, goes the honor of directing the play. Now a few weeks later we have our new class rings, which we are very proud of, Nextwe are looking forwardto start- ing on our Prom. We hope it will be as successful as our class play. FIRST ROW: Joyce Ayers, Rosalyn Clouse, Martha Jane Clouse, Gloria Adams, Dorothy Witten, Max Kohn, Barbara Cowgill, Mary Wittung. SECOND ROW: Mr. Cress, Carl Johnson, Rex Hurless, Wally Smith, Deloyd Rickard, Joe Hertel, Lester Merkle. THIRD ROW: Alice Custer, Bob Mosier. Jim Carr, Dick Good, Jim Witten, Dan Sutton, Jack Wailick, Joanne Wise, Irene Merkle.

Monday morning, September 8, 1949, 31 bright students entered high school to start a long drive toward graduation. The first year we lost Vernon Adelblue but also gained one when Don Keber carne, holding our number at 31. The officers our first year were Bob Good, President: Jack Smalley, Vice-President, Janet Walls, Secretary, Ned Scheidt, Treasurer, and Mr. Fleck as our sponsor. Now the second year, we started out with 31. We lost Leland Brown but gained one when Charles Doan came. Our officers this year are Iris Baker, President, Marlene Wallace, Vice- Presidentg Rosalind Bigham, Secre- tary, Betty Brubaker, Treasurer, and again we have Mr. Fleck as our spon- sor. We chose our class colors, White and Wine, and the Wine ,Rose as our class flower. During the next two years we hope to gain what we are striving for. Graduation!
