As our captain we had Shirley Brand, and her co-captains were Patsy Rickard, Lola Eibling, and Pat Krugh. Our running team was trained by Mr. West, As part of our physical training we had a skating party. At the start of our second year we chose as captainShirley Brand and as co-captains, .Tay Dee Putrnan, Jack Priddy, Max Prichard, and Lola Eibling. As a feminine trainer we chose Mrs, Wurster, Deciding that roller skating would give us some of the needed exercise, we planned another skating party. To start the fund we would need in 1949 and 1950, we had a bake sale, and sold forget-me-nots. In the third lap of our preparation we chose as our captain, Maynard George. His co-captains were Lola Eibling, Phyllis Wallace, and Betty Brunni. Our trainer this year was Miss Severn. This year we also had another bake sale, sold forget- me-nots and had concessions to make our fund grow. We also gave a play, .Tust Ducky which aided our financial situation. In the spring we gave a big party for the Winners of '49. Several of our team thought the preparation too difficult and gave up. However, we gained one when Pat Brubaker come to join us. Now with twenty members of our team, we were ready for the Marathon of 1950. We had Corinthians, Athenians, Tro- jans, and Spartans to make a well-balanced and successful team. As our trainer we had Mr, Cress, and .Tay Dee Putman as captain. His co-captains were Max Prichard, Lola Mae Eibling, and Virginia Hertel. Patsy Rickard and Shirley Brand published a book on our activities and our successors. To help with our fund, we had two bake sales, a cookie sale, a cake raffle, a ham raffle, sold forget-me-nots, conces- sions, movies, and sold magazine subscriptions. After much hard work we had won the race, In honor of the victory, our competitors gave us a banquet. As one of the awards of our labor, we won a trip to Washington, D.C. f7Ae leaf 'IKM an .iafamenf We the graduating class of nineteen-hundred and fifty, being of sound minds i? l- weary hands, and tired feet, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. In the year 1947, 28 bright, studious, serious students entered high school. Dick Busch and Gale Smith guided us through our first year ofhigher education with the help of Miss Dull, our sponsor. At the beginning of our Znd year of serious study, there were only 20 stu- dents. This year our pilots were Loma Agler, PIPES., Dick Points, Vice Pres.: and Mrs, Wurster, our sponsor, We chose our class colors, white and gold, and our class flower, the yellow rose. We had a bowling party and you should have heard the nicknames which developed from this. Much to our happiness, our treasury in- creased, also. Now, in our third year, we have really risen to higher education. You never saw a more studious bunch of Z0 Juniors. Our leaders is Charles Cramer with Gale Smith, Jane Ann Stemen, Jeanette Roller, Loma Agler, Opal Taylor as helpers. On Oct. 25th, we had our class play, I Wouldn't Know! To Miss Severn, our sponsor, went the honor of directing this play. It was quite a success, A couple of weeks later, we were sporting new class rings. The event which will top off our year is a successful prom. This we'll achieve even if it does mean a lot of hard work. .SZIQ 0l'l'l0I e6 FIRST ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: ROSALYN CLOUSE, MAX KOHN, GLORIA ADAMS, BOB MOSIER, DOROTHY WITTEN, MARTHA CLOUSE, JOYCE AYERS. Jack Priddy, Ralph Schaadt, and Bob Stratton left our fair school to attend Van Wert, and Lima Central respectively, Mary Carr and Marcella Stetler felt that they were able to work their own way, so they left us also. This was the year that we graduated for the first time. A graduation exercise for the eighth grade was held. We were the first class to have an eighth grade graduation exercise. We even received diplomas. These were only fake though. We didn't receive the real ones until we had taken our semester exam. This ended our happy years in the grades. F5 . The Future Farmers of America is the national organization of boys studying vocational agriculture. This organization strives to develop leadership, sportsmanship, cooperation, community service, thrift, scholarship, improved agriculture, organized recrea- tion, citizenship and patriotism. The Ohio City Chapter was chartered in 1941 under the guidance of Mr. Lloyd Smith. There wasn't any F.F.A. in 1943 or 1944 due to lack of an instructor. Mr. Henry C. Prior became instructor in 1945. In 1946 the chapter won gold medal at the parliamentary procedure contest and placed third in the Little International Livestock Judging. In 1947 we won silver medal in parliamentary procedure and also that year held the first annual Pa rent and Son Banquet. In 1948 we again won silver medal in Parliamentary Procedure and also held our second annual Banquet. The same year we were honored by having two State Farmers elected from our chapter, Dallas M. High and Bob Galloway. Dallas was then also elected as the South West Sectional Vice President of the Ohio Association of Future Farmers. In 1949 our third annual Parent and Son Banquet was held March 4th and the Chapter won Gold Medal in Parliamentary Procedure.
