But this was interrupted by a violent wind storm which kept our plane flying dizzily about in the sky. ' As we started on the last part oi our journ ey, we found that we had only twentyueight pa gers on board our plane. Since we started four years ago, nine of our cabin mates had parted for other things of interest.A This was the final hop and we were determined to make it the most succes ful and worthwhile part of our whole journey which had taken four whole years to com lets. We chose Charles Hablitzel as our Eilot, and Miss Straw as our tutor. We wanted the most ex- perienced people to guide us in the last year of our grand adventure. Several of our passengers were dissatisfied with our motto, class flower, and colors, so we decided that it would be better to change them. For our motto we chose one that corresponded with the name of our Elena. It was nThe Door to Sue- Q cess is Labeled USHLV For our cabin colors we H chose green and goldf our class flower, the yellow W roses H This year we began a job which had been neg- Q lectcd five years ago-that of making an annual. It H is not as elaborate as those constructed in the W past, but we hope it will be a credit to our schoo Q Many hours of hard, honest labor were spent on its M construction. W As the Senior year draws to a close, we the H Senior class of 1937, wish to thank the facualty N and those who helped make our education possible. J We appreciate the long hours of patient instruc- 3 tion they have given us. Q We bid farewell to them, to our Alma Mater an to our dear cabin mates, with the hope that we l may again meet in the future. Luella Seger u Class Historian i Q 1 L V K 5 . -- - f e w r

The Grumbler Speaks Oh-h-h-hi What a hard chair! Why can't we have cushioned chairs, especially in study hall. What is a study hall good for any how? We come here for a brief rest between these classes taught by stern teachers. It should be a place of cemfort, peace, and quiet, but instead here is another teacher who watches us with an eagle eye to see that we sit up straight and have our eyes on the pages of a book constantly. When the bell clangs for us to go to our classes, we are so tired from study that we find it hard to pay attention to the discussion. Even here we can not close our tired eyes to rest them. I think something should be done about such tyranny in the class room. I hope he gets tired of my staring at him not even as much as blinking an eye. And stairs! Did you ever see so many flights of stairs in a school building for tired pupils to climb a dozen times a day?Real1y there should be an elevator installed. I'd be willing to play elevator boy part of the time. The lockers are too small. One can't crowd half of his belongings into them. When I opened my locker this morning that horrid English Lit- erature book fell out and hit my foot. For a minute I eouldn't walk. Then along came Mr. Crawford and said,n No loafing in the hall, p1ease,U nCould I help it if I eou1dn't walkil was finally able to hobble to my English class and what should Mr. Koch give us today of all days, but a test, I soon wished that buck ned hit me on the head and put me out of slat musery. I know I failed it, Woe's me! The problem of the window shades is becoming more and more unbearable every dey. 3emeone should invent a shade that vould raise or lower according to the sun. We are not supposed to ad- just them. Sometimes the teacher neglaets to do so. There we sit, the sun blinding us and we can't even close our eyes to escape it. Please won't someone come to our rescue? Yours grumblingly, .Kent R. Erofit
