Several sophomores and freshmen have also made the var- sity team which makes the future look very bright. Great improve- ment is seen early in the season as school records begin to fall. New varsity unlforms helped distinguish O.V. as a new force ln the Sunset League. The varsity squad was paced all year by strong performances from Debbie Orr, Akeml Royer, Ann Scaglione, Llsa Rey and Sandy Miller. Since the varsity was composed of malnly underclassmen, the future looks bright. The J.V. track team also fielded a strong team and several J.V. girls moved up to varsity competition during the season. The girls' team was headed again by Coach Beth Chilcott with the help of able assistant coaches: Jana Rampsch, Lorenzo Augustine, Jeff Chilcott, Mike Mitchell, and John Rogers.
