With an overall record of 20-7, the team was ranked number four in Orange County and number fourteen in CIF. Although all the girls contributed to the success of the team, a few in- dividuals stood out. Karen Chase and Michelle Chomicz were accord- ed first team All-Sunset League honors. Trina Vlachos was second team while Dana Douty and Captain Laura Simelr were honorable mention. A total of nine school records were broken. These included most points single game - 95, most assists single game - 14 by Dana Douty, and most steals single game - 9 by Karen Chase. With nine girls returning, Coach Kelly Painter is looking forward to another fun-filled season next year. The results of their work was never more evident then in the back to back wins by one point over Mater Dei Q49-48l and Fountain Valley 148-47l which was the highlight of the season. The two key players on the team were guard Eric Christopherson, and forward Doug Rice. Coach Wayne Young said, It was a pleasure to coach this team and I wish them all good luck in the future. The Seahawks wound up their year with an overall record ol 18 wins and 3 losses, a third place in the Gahr JV Tourney, a Marina!Edison Tournament Champion- ship, a second place in Sunset Legue play, and an understanding ot where a good attitude can lead.
