The final ratings found them in the fourth place in the league standings .... The team picked up an easy victory over Well- ington in the opener .... but from then on it was tough sledding . . . . Two victories over Willard were the only rays of sunshine in the remaining part of the schedule .... Bob Champion and Dick Shafer were the only lettermen back from last year .... Consequently Coach Leahy's boys were Without much experience .... Of the year- lings Close, Morris, and John Dudley showed much improvement .... they should work well together next year .... Champion proved to be the outstanding member of the squad .... He was among the leading scorers of the league .... Lettermen .... Champion, Shafer, Smith, J.
