X .s AN OPEN LETTER Dear Mr. Harvey, One decade and three years ago, a man arrived on Oakwood's campus. There was nothing momen- tous about his arrival, just the fact that he was a new teacher. Only you, Mr. Harvey, felt a tinge of ex- pectancy when you arrived. In the classes you taught, there was the usual curiosity surrounding o new teacher. Eventually, however, student adiusted to teacher and teacher to student. And only as the years chased each other a- way did your arrival seem more significant. The intense dedication, the fervor evident in your teaching the shrewd knowledge of subject matter, the impenetrable stand for principle, these and other qualities shone forth. ln view of the dedicated service that you have rendered countless hundreds of students here at Oak- wood, we, in our feeble way, dedicate this Acorn to you. ln doing so, we realize how utterly insignificant this expression of our appreciation may appear. But we believe that you will look beyond this small token to the warm and genuine expression of thanks.
