ln these uncertain times. there is one thing certaing there will be a future. and Oakwood College is
prepared to help young men and women prepare for the future and to serve their Cod and their country to
the best of their ability.
lf ever there was a time when youth needed to be fortified and safeguarded by a God-centered education.
that time is now. Ninety-four per cent of our young delinquents are said to be between the ages of ten and
seventeen. and the prediction is that less than ten years hence there may be as many as two million child
Reverence for Cod and loyalty to truth are the principles upon which Christian education is based. It
is the priceless privilege of Oakwood College students to think. to act. and to live in harmony with the
highest and best. v
The College was founded in an atmosphere that was distinctively Christian. to prepare youth for Christian
service. and today it is being nurtured and developed in that same climate and for the same purpose.
Some of you have reached the end of your sojourn at the college: you have fulfilled the requirements for
graduation. and you are entering a big world filled with material blessings. but where there is a great need
of the spiritual touch. May you ever have the passion to serve and enjoy the thrill of living a great life
as you cooperate with Christ, your Master Guide. in the work of saving the lost.
