The entire Wildcat te- am received praise fr- om Coach Hosea Collins. It was the best team effort I have seen, as long as I have been at Oakman. The kids play- ed as a well trained un It, and I am certainly proud of them. Our center Ronald Sa- naln did a real fine Job for us. Randy Woods did a great job of offensive blocking. Barry LoUar a senior defensive end pl- ayed his best. And how could you leave out qu« anerback Larry Hood Larry threw the ball re« si well under pressure. Bobby Pugh and CrIm Sanain did a fine Job for us. It is the best I have seen Crlm run since he has been playing foot- ball. It would seem like the Wildcats are on their way to another Walker-Wins i| ton County Championship They are undefeated In the league. Addison of Sln ston County is another of the undefeated teams. 7 h ey are the conference le- aders with 4 wins against no defeats. Oakman has three wins. Homecoming is coming to Wildcat land Friday ni- ght. The guest is going to be Berry High School. Co- ach Collins is inviting ev- eryone right now out to the game, which should be fil- led with fine football play and that homecoming ce- lebration mood. The Wildcats were left out of the state play-offs by the hair of a football this weekend as both of the top two teams of the class 2-A circuit came home with wins. The Wildcats remained number five on the list of top teams. It makes us feel like a bridesmaid, commented Coach Hosea Collins. We were left out. I am certainly proud of this tea m and what it has accomplished. Thissame group won the Wal- Win Cham- pionship last year and did it again this year. In three years they have lost only five ball games, which ii something to be proud of» This bunch, I feel, could have done the Wal-Win Conference, Walker County, and Oakman High School proud in the championships. •! ♦ ♦ ♦ » i Oakman barely missed the chance to play in the cham- pionships, losing only one game all season long, that being a 19-0 loss to Carboa HiU. j Lamar County, one of the top four in the state, had the same record as did Oakman. Lamar had enough tie break- .ing points to put them in the play-off. It w tn haw tn ho annthftr
