Girls' Athletic First Row Left to Right L Davidon, J Manello, A Archacki, J Herkowitz, M Mendelson, Miss Mclntre, D Charmer, F Weinberg B Zohott, S Papo M Coleman Second Row C Kxshner, D Fienberg, B Garrison, L Resnick, L Klein, J Eastman L Kazanowski, J Meyers, P Plotkin, C Koslowski, C Sheron Third Row J Wasielwski, R Koretz, R Seigel, B Hillman, M Brilliant, G Jaffe, I Aaron C Stone, K Gretz, I Berlin Fourth Row P Shlvotz, I Richmond, D Zinberg, R A Frye, M MacDonald, M Mack, C Schwartz, C Hack, M Littmann Three years ago approxlmately 150 girls met wxth the physical education teacher and and today we are included 1n the Glrls Athletic Association better known as G A A Recently the officers of G A A attended a meeting at Birmingham High School As well as other representatives partlclpating in a meetmg and discussing the toplcs of a better G A A After, there were various sports in which everyone took actrve parts Oak Park was host to a volley ball game with Lmcoln High School recently Even though we lost, we put up a smashmg battle to really make Lincoln work for its polnts G A A hopes to invite other schools to particlpate in 1ntramural sports There are s1x teams in G A A that particlpate each Tuesday and Wednesday agamst each other They are The Dribblers, Bed Bloomers, Short Shorts, Team 4 Cork screws, and Earmuffs The pictures on these pages try to illustrate some of the sports wh1ch G A A en gages in Volleyball baseball, basketball golf archery, and other recreational 3Ct1V1t168 teach the girls the basic fundamentals of the sports and how to work well in teams Along with the fun, certain girls are rewarded for their faithful attendance at meet mgs wxth awards, and others get recogmtion being referees, and various other tasks The group is growmg rapidly and will continue to do so if the glrls participate as they have done so far The officers are very OPUIIIISUC about the future of H118 enloy able and worthwhlle activity 58 . g n , Q a , o o : I ' O l O 0 0 Q o 0 u n 9 n , s decided that they would like to establish after school intramurals.
