OF THE OAK HILLS CENTRAL OFFICE Two important tasks which affect everyone in the Oak Hills' school dis- trict are performed by Mr. Herron and Mr. Combs and the staff of the Central Office. These two jobs concern bus transportation for the district and the purchasing of supplies. The impor- tance of transportation is obvious to all students, especially those who live in the farthest reaches of the district or those who must depend solely upon the buses to get to school. No less impor- tant is the task of buying books, equip- ment, and supplies sufhcient to keep the schools of the district doing the best possible educational job. HANFORD COMBS ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT MR ROBERT BROWNING MRS. ALMA BROCKMEIER CLERK OF THE BOARD SECRETARY

The new oHices of the Oak Hills Cen- tral OfHce are located in John Foster Dulles Elementary School on Bridge- town Road. What an active busy place this is! Here the superintendent and his staff plan and supervise the many ac- tivities of all the schools in the Oak Hills District. Here, too, the Board of Education holds its monthly meeting to determine the policy necessary to make Oak Hills a well-run and-eHi- cient district. Telephones ring, people come and go in this important nerve center of our school district. RICHARD W. HERRON SUPERINTENDENT MRS. HELEN ORLEMANN MRS SARA COLEMAN SECRETARY SECRETARY

MR. WILLIAM M. KULQTAD PRINCIPAL OF UAK HILLS Mr. Kulstad finds that paper work keeps him at his desk many hours during the school day and often far into the night. Here he performs the routine task of signing a check drawn upon the student activity fund allowing some club to make a purchase or pay a bill. i ADMINISTRATIDN - Today's world is a world of automation in which education must keep pace. Largely through the efforts of Mr. William M. Kulstad, Principal, Oak Hills High School became the first public high school in Hamilton County to use the Univac data processing system for report cards and registration. Other recognition has been brought to the school through his published articles in such magazines as Student Life, his work for the adoption of a school ring, the promotion of Tartan Day, and his member- ship in national and state professional organizations. Mr. Kulstad, who received his Master's degree from the University of Minnesota and did advanced work both there and at the University of California, came to the Cincinnati area from a high school principal- ship in Rapid City, South Dakota. He has always had a particular interest in Student Council organi- zations, and this has continued at Oak Hills. At the present time, he serves on the State Student Council Executive Committee representing the Ohio State Principalls Association. For the future, Mr. Kulstad looks toward the es- tablishment of a remedial and developmental read- ing program at Oak Hills, and a well-rounded curric- ulum to meet the needs of all students. Thus, he feels, must the challenge of tomorrow's world be met in the classrooms of today.
