Reach Out And Touch Someone In 1981 , the students and staff of Nueva Vista held the first annual Special Children ' s Fair. That got the ball rolling, as our students have since reached out to help handicapped children whenever the chance has arisen. This year, our very special volunteers refer- eed and supervised a volleyball tournament for special children at California School for the Deaf in Riverside. Another group helped con- duct the Halloween carnival at Rose Kennedy School. And Joe Davis, Kim Ihde, and Traycie Schindler dressed up as Santa and his elfettes and entertained the kids at Jurupa Jr. High. Later this year, Nueva Vista students will pro- vide their services at the Riverside Special Olympics. And finally, we will host the Special Children ' s Games in March. Thanks to the ef- forts of so many of our caring students, Nueva Vista has earned a very positive reputation throughout Riverside County. Special Children
