First important event of the year for the Library Club was the November Book Fair. This was follow- ed by giving Christmas baskets to the poor and cake ancl candy sales for the new Notre Dame. Aiding students in research and reading was rewarded by the members' springtime trip to the Maryland State Library Association convention. Success on the cake sales. drives and ralfles spon sored by the Library Club for the new school was not surprising. for this organization under Sister Mary Alfrieda's direction. prospered the entire year. DEADLINE DETAILS are carefully worked out hy Towers staff members Barbara McNamara. Agnes Buhman. Dotty Phillips. Barbara Walsh, Pat Hyer. and Janice Francesconi. After a profitably spent New York sojourn at Columbia's yearbook short course, the Towers staff set out to present a complete year at Notre Dame in perspective, realizing that the yearbook kaleidoscopes the serious hours of the scholastic schedule with the light- er aspects of student life. With Medalist their goal, the staff conquered the unfamiliar maze of pictures and print, captions and copy, and watched their aspirations evolve into the finished book. TAKE THE 'A' TRAIN.
