ted HOCKEY ARL3 IH October the athletes of xarrous classes turned out to hockey wrth the desxre of securmg a place on therr respectlve class teams or - scarclty of materlal due to the fact that the entrre xarslty of the precedxng year wrth the exceptron of two players was graduated But through the work of Vllss Hyle a team was gathered together Several outsrde games were played but Notre Dame was x1ctor1ous1n only one BASKETBALL After the Chr1stmas holtdays the grrls all centered their thoughts on basketball Dally the gym rang wlth eager talk and laughter as they took part ln basketball games Three games were played wlth other schools and Notre Dame after an upward cllmb was able to beat Caarrlson Forest 28 24 Interclass games were also played amidst much rnalry on the part of the xarlous teams We are especlally proud of our I-Ilgh School champxons who de feared the College champnons ln an mtensely excltlng game SWIMMING The fulfillment of the greatest dream of all the students of Notre Dame lS the new sw1mm1ng pool A new sport IH a still newer Dool result keen competrtlon among the I-Ilgh School classes and more so between the Hrgh School and College Through the untmng efforts of MISS Hyle much promxslng matertal turned out The Freshmen were VICIOIIOUS ln the first swlmmlng meet ever held at Notre Dame lnhe swlmmmg meet held ln Vlarch between the Hlgh School and College resulted nn the complete defeat of the College for the score stood 52 26 arena X, Y Y .X K X 'L e by ,ez fe f S ' ,.,f ,f '-- - ' T . . al uf, '- Af vw' Gvualvx-' f -, X - I N- 1 ff AV I fy 4 'L If t ' ' 1 1 1 v ' 1 ,,, . .
