If V. l am here. xl' I have reached the lookout from which forever may be seen. 'P' I .v., I am not sure the trip was worth all the trouble, though . . . From where I stand, forever looks wornout. . .and old , rather like a house in need of paint. Forever is not much. It looked much nicer from the ground . Q, Jrigra Diane Malik '74 Broken panes in a shattered room flowing wind with a broken tune Windowsills dry and shredded shattered glass beside an empty bed Broken windows and a Carrier stove infested with flames eating four cracked walls and one single door And one lonely being aged with strife watches the mastery of the murder her house and her life Broken windows and a shattered mind once both were useful now distorted and blind flame The Plant He was planted, but only then He had begun, near now, but then. He has grown beauty now, not then. If his colors were ever given, he kept them till now Now there is glory and splendor and the oh so cruel battle is finished. He is now, and only then was. He should be now, and never then. He will be undone soon, but not now. If he will be gone, all his colors will be used. Then there will be no glory or splendor, for a more cruel and harsh struggle has begun. He was planted He is grown He will die. Pattie Eames '73 LOGIC TO LIFE It seems strange that we should lose innocence imtead of gaining it as we age, learning life should purify it of confusion and reduce it to a simplicity we can know. But that real reduction leaves iust ash and some men glad to die, and some old men children again-- blank and strange as a new born child ll There is but one logic to life '- the wish for more. It has some sense if it means enough to continue forever to last at all . Joan Young '72 l .- vw- I '9 I Q -4 Margaret Ingram '73 i watched you walk through the glimmering sunlight... up up i saw the gentle bobbing and and and and down down of your eversoglowing hair i smiled as you walked and my eyes kissed your soul and forever was never till now Nancy He inen '74 s I
