Wonder and sometimes :onfusion result in physics, chemistry, and biology vhen students extend their senses in a search for truth . Ndventurous girls open themselves to the awesome nysteries of reality . They discover that science, far :rom being mere abstract theory, involves the whole- 1ess of existence itself. ' ART The Art Department swings in total freedom. By. the demand of medium and form, students learn to discover freedom through discipline . They are given new vision with which they discover every innuendo of life . IANGUAGE To take on the mentality of another people is vital to the study of a foreign' language and to the development of a deep-rooted respect for men whose environment is different from our own . The Language Department aims toward the celebration of the brotherhood of all men through its efforts to give this necessary insight into the many ways in which men throughout the world 'ive and communicate . MUSIC The customary breach between musician and audience is bridged at Notre Dame where the universality of man's oldest self-expression is stressed . Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul. To prove Plato contemporary must necessarily be a daily undertaking, and daily are we confronted with the multi-colored facets of music . HISTORY History is the story of man and his search for the best way to live and to be hu- man .
