Sister Marie Fredrica Superior and Treasurer Sister Marie Fredrica perfoms her important task quietly, yet capably,as the Superior of an active community of Sisters. Supported by the strength of true dedica tion, she also handles the demanding duties of school treasurer with care and great patience. Sister Superior is the guiding force behind our spiritual development as Well as the moving drive that accomplished the enlargement of the high school educate tional and residential facilities. aes . 2 Sister Francis Loretto Principal The position of Principal is a demand ing and often a thankless one. Only through true dedication and faith in the will of God could Sister Francis Loretto accomplish what she does. High ideals, keen determination, and a quick sense of humor have made her both respected and admired by the entire Student Body. These qualities as well as her sincere interest in each girl account for the ever present line of students formed at her office door. X 1 XX Y X5 X4 ,sas Sister Marion Vice-Principal Though burdened with many tasks as Vice-Prin- cipal, proficient head of the language department, head of the audio-Visual department, and Senior homeroon counselor, Sister Marion finds ample time to be a mother, nurse, and disciplinarian to nearly 100 resident students. Sister's sharp humor and Willingness to help have gained her the true friendship of many girls, Sister Madeline Vice-Principal Although Sister Mad- eline is kept very busy with attendance records and the numerous other jobs of Vice-Principal, she is also an extremely active and dedicated Y. C. S. moderator, as well as chairman of the English department. With her ready laugh and sincere interest in each student, Sister has the gift of being able to make any class more interesting. Nrq 'Na' ,- is '-4. ,4--P i 7 Student Council . . . 1 the core of integrity, responsibility, and leadership which makes our student government operate for the 'benefit of all. Isabel lgoa Pres ident Love, dedication , and loyalty. . .three Words that have hours of planning, working, laughing, and pray- ing behind them- -hours tht Isabel has spent entirely for our Student Body. This is time that will never be re- paid to her, yet this time has given each student a deeper understanding of these qualities of love, dedi- I cation, and loyalty which fit Isabel possesses and uses to make each day of her life truly worthwhile. x XS Bonnie Barnes Secretary- It seems remarkable that anyone could keep records of the many things that happen at our Student Body meetings, but every month Bonnie brings forth intel- ligible minutes with noth- ing omitted. Known for her generosity, Bonnie has dedicated herself to the spiritual growth of her fellow students as prefect of our Sodality. Gail Snowgrass Vice-Pres ident- Q From the calm deliv- ery of her inspiring spiri- tual talks, many people are unaware of the hours of thought and preparation that Gail spends before each Student Body meeting. Gail's good judgment and her willingness to help others have won her the respect and confidence of many students. Nancy Ayling Treasurer- The treasurer's job is not an easy one. Keeping track of the financial trans- I I actions of an active Student Body might leave a less determined individual a trifle despairing, but ef- ficient as she is, Nancy is never too busy to be a friend and a fun-loving member of her class. X! Wig, : 'o S c if t fi 5 A Carol Miller Athletic Manager- Although Carol is fun- loving and sometimes a practical joker, she is dedicated to her office and to fair play. By in- troducing new approaches to school sports events, Carol has kept the Student Body interested and eager to participate in every activity. ll A . 9,, -. SQ -in K-, J i 'si ,lv I. Igoa M. The unmis- takable image of a scholar is lucidly depicted through your achievements as National Merit Scholar, life member of C.S. F. and National Honor Society, as California Scholarship Federation Finalist, as recepient of the National Honor Society Honor- ary Scholarship and Bank of America Trophy, and through your acceptance in the Honors Program at the University of Santa Clara where you plan to pursue a Pre- Med. course. Your scholastic accomplishments have truly brought great credit to Notre Dame: but even more than these, Jacqueline, your whole - hearted cooperation and ready Willingness to lend a hand to any project, your active participation in Sodality and Y. C. S. , and your outstanding leadership as president of C,S. F. rank you as one of the Admirable Super 200 of our Alma Mater. ji Scholars S usan A rchibald You have enriched Notre Dame, Susan. by your intellectual humility. You who lead the Nations graduates as a National Merit Scholar, a National Honor Society Honorary Scholar. and a recipient of a Scholarship to College of Notre Dame, a State Scholarship Qualifying Finalist, and a Life Member of the Calif- ornia Scholarship Federation and of the National Honor Society: you who had a large share in writing the original script for Honey Hone, our successful Student Production: you who have given an example of tireless service as a li- brary Assistant: of dedication as a Sodalistg of creativity as a feature writer for Le Tigre -- you claim to be only a follower! We at Notre Dame salute you for the lustre you have added to the torch of Christian scholarship held high by our Alma Mater for over a century in California! lf' fkxx -E lQxQ XX lOl utsmnclincg Margot Graham A When We think of you, Margot, we do, not first think of the scholar who Won distinction as a National Merit Finalist, a State Scholar, a Bank of America Trophy, Award and Honors at the University of Santa Clarag nor do We think first of leadership which made your class select you as their Senior Class President. Above and beyond the glory of your scholarship and leadership is the glory of your goodness, a glory reflected in a million acts of self-sacrifice for your class, the Y. C.S. , Sodality -- for anyone who needed you. You have set the entire school an unparalled example of outstanding scholarship and leadership coupled With self- effacement. We have no doubt that wherever you go Notre Dame will be better loved and appreciated because you reflect so well the goodness it endeavors to in- culcate. 41 aw' F 1 N Alfx A L I s T iq- ,..,,...,,.af' W J X. wafers Isabel lgo Whatever the qualities that make for leadership -- responsibility, integrity, loyalty, self-sacrifice, personality, friendliness, fairness, creativity -- they are all summed up in our minds in one name: Isabel. From the day your Fresh- man class elected you their President to the afternoon of Graduation which brought you the Ada Ryland Award, Notre Dame's Highest I-Ionor for Outstanding Leader- ship and Religion, you have been in every sense a leader. While you served your class well as Freshman and Sophomore President, our greatest debt is to the quality of leadership you exercised as Student Body President. Faculty and students alike counted on your prudence and charity. Your associate officers and Council trusted your judgment, your Principal and fellow students relied on your loyalty. Through you, the wonderful spirit of N.D.B. has been intensified. As you follow your two sisters and two brothers in the religious life, we at Notre Dame offer you our highest praise and our deepest appreciation. Iii IO3 4 .Sbdfzlizjf rqfect Bonnie Barnes N. D, B. extends to you deep appreciation for your outstanding leadership as Prefect of the Sodality. The spiritual formation of the Sodalists and the im- pact of that formation upon the Student Body this year have been due to your untiring efforts. The Sodality Way of life - the Christ-like endeavor to sanctify self, to sanctify others, and to defend the Church - has been promulgated by the Sodalists under your dedicated direction. Through such activities as the Lenten project, the unit apostolic projects, and the summer meeting program you have led the Sodalists to a greater realization of their responsibility to Jesus, through Mary. - 9 Ann Haberlin Notre Dame pays tribute to you for your dedication and leadership as Young Christian Student President. You have, by your example and enthusiasm, stimulated the members of Y. C.S. to a practical response to the appeals of the popes and bishops of our modern times to join in the great mission of reChristianizing society, of restoring all things to Christ. We thank you, Ann, for your personal interest in the apostolic development of each member of your Y.C.S. group and for your untiring zeal to instill in each girl a sense of mission to her fellow-man. This sense of mission has been concretized this year in such projects as the organization of parish dialogue Masses, involvement with such civic organizations as the Catho- lic Interracial Council and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and personal interest and involvement in the problems of the students at Notre Dame. Through Y.C.S. you have been trained and you have helped to train others to strive through organized coopera- tion action to combat the pagan influences of your teenage surroundings and to give to your world a newness of life. Our prayer for you is that you will always be filled with the same apostolic desires and aspirations- that you will always give Christ to all places of your everyday life. Ig.
