i- ,,,, students broaden . . . tom sebastian studies an exhibit, throughout the school year, notre dame's faculty and students reached beyond class- room walls to see subject matter in actual ap- plication in real life and learn from more con- crete examples. expanding a study of ,modern communications, the history of the media classes traveled to uni- versal studios. highlights of the day included a tour through sound stages and filming sets. a field trip to the museum of science and in- dustry at exposition park in los angeles was made by the art and advanced science classes. there, students observed exhibits representing scientific principles as well as the imagination. an show of the famous buckminster fuller's work was also displayed. in a.n attempt to deepen their appreciation of self, others, and god as ea.ch is involved in life after graduation, the christian vocation classes explored single, married, priestly, and religi- our life, by putting them to practice right here on campus. seniors tom sebastian and barb kain decided to experience marriage, including the preparations, the ceremony itself, and the responsibilities following a marriage commit- ment. larry green acted as the priest, search- ing for his vocation. other seniors choose equally creative assignments. students parti- cipated in other outings and activities during the course of the year as well. maria.nne steck, mr. plutko, joyce wilson, and jeff singletary enter universal stu- dios.
