1420 , ' we' English students are inspired by literature Various aspects of literature and grammar were covered in all English classes. Exploring such famous works as MOBY DICK and TOM SAWYEFt, juniors became familiar with different writing styles and authors. In addition, sophomores practiced creative writing as well as learning about the structure and grammar that makes a piece of writing good. Senior English students covered a wide area of interests,. beginning with the Old English epic BEOWULF andl studying the progression and development of English literature. Seniors also wrote research papers during third quarter, a project which gave them a chance to broaden their understanding and learn the details of a specific topic. Scientific problems provide a challenge lf I have seen so much farther than others, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants. This statement exemplifies one of the fundamental aspects of science: that new discoveries are built upon the careful work of earlier pioneers. The scientists of the future, whatever their field may be, will strive to ad- vance the work of their predecessors.
