Athletes are honored at Fall Sports Banquet As the fall sports seasons drew to a close, we gathered to honor the participants of football and cross country. Both teams entered CIF and so it was indeed fitting to recognize the teams and the parents. Cross country had the floor first and was presided over by Coach Harris. MVP honors went to Kurt Brees and Most lm- proved went to Pat Flaherty. Coach Stangel then in- troduced the football team. Most Valuable Defensive player was Tim O'Doherty, while Most Valuable Offen- sive honors were shared by Darron Smith and John Kuschell. Most Improved player was Robert Meier. John Moser landed MVP by shattering several long- standing career and season records. Congratulations to those students who played for ND in the fall. A1 V.,-L, 6 'vm Students sponsor Fun Week Spring brought sunshine to Riverside and an in- describable desire for some activity to brighten and vary the regular school week. For this reason, and because of its success last year, the students at Notre Dame decided to sponsor another Fun Week. The events, contributed and planned by each class, includ- ed such thrillers as wagon races, spaghetti-eating con- tests, water balloon competitions, car stuffings, and many more. Student interest in the festivities was overwhelming. The week was climaxed by Olympic Day on Friday, during which half the school day was spent in participation in a variety of activities offered. -.n F' .
