This year's A.S.B, was confronted with the responsibility of preparing Notre Dame and St. Francis for the upcoming merger. The A.S.B.'s feelings about the matter cen- tered on improving the relationship between both schools. As a result, the A,S.B, found it necessary to extend its social activities. Dances were our first issues of improve- ment. Realizing that past dances were that of mediocrisy, the student council felt opti- mistic that the student bodies of both schools would participate if we made our dances more exciting. By contracting the best bands around, every dance was a great suc- cess, so much so, that other schools in the area have conceded that ours are the best around. Among our many success stories were the Homecoming Activites and the Christmas Ball, both setting school records in their participation. Our master-plan did not stop at dances, but continued on to other co-ed activities. Our first event was an assembly featuring George Sharp a well-known hypnotist In Ralph de la Cruz selling cookies during an A,S,B, fund raising campaign 9 c February Notre Dame had its first annual Fun Week. This featured a week of contests and prizes, and as a finale both schools were shown a motion picture at a nearby theatre. Also in February both schools participated in Volleyball competition. The following weeks were occupied on planning co-ed field trips. And the activities went on . . . A.S,B, President Joe Leonardi. Col.
