One luttle gurl from the Day Home came Theresa Domunguez was her name Then too there was Carol Tassu Slughtly plump and very sassy Nancy McGovern sat stull un her seat Never a word would she ever repeat In the second grade we soon were seen Wuth our teacher Suster Phulomene Each mornung we wondered who would she puck To threaten and scold wuth her long pounted stuck Thus was the year when to our delught We found ourselves wuth homework To our second grade came only one Tall and blonde Marler-e Mund Then unto the thurd grade where we all met Our new teacher Suster Marue Colette Our protect for thus grade was acquurung the skull Of embrouderung on samplers Oh what a thrull Who was the gurl wuth her sewung so neat? lt was Margaret Fregoso whom no one could beat Up one more step where we were met at the door By Suster Ruth Marue who then taught us more About readung wrutung aruth nuetlc And geography whuch we all had to llck She was the one who sneaked up un the back To reward our talkung wuth a soft but stern whack Roberta OConnor so sweet and cute Was next to uoun our growung group Then came Monuca and we all got the chance To hear her sung and see her dance We funally reached the second floor Luttle dud we know what was un store The fractuons we thought such a mess Oh how we crammed to pass e TEST What a drop from As and Bs To see on our report cards C s and D s Suster Theodora and her Wan derung Jews Wull not be forgotten un our fufth grade news Barbara Edwards and Roberta Helms had such a treat They louned us but the room was fulled there was no seat , u u YI . As we take our pen un hand And look back through the years when school began Our memorues recall the hustory Of the Senuor Class of 53 It all began one sunny day Wuth kundergarten taught by Muss lt looked more luke a mothers meetung Because they were the ones domg the greetung Into the lubrary we fuled wuth wude eyed looks But we werent prepared to read the books Thus was the room where we started our uourney Of prayer and laughter not to mentuon learnung Tuny Florence always furst Arruved to class un the nuck of tume Suttung on her brauds so long Was luttle Jull who could always sung a song We heard a whusper un the very last row Who else but Mary Ann whos always talked so soft and low Donna and Judy forever a paur Always dud theur trophues share The color book was Judys pruze But Donna s glory was always her eyes Then there was Shurley so sweet and shy Thus soon turned out to be a bug lue t Dartnae Another companuon un our very furst class Was Selma Barbuch a tres gau ass Ruth McColgan had a hard tume to puck Whether to be tardy or lust to be suck We were funally a part of the school at last Our kundergarten days were a un the past Now as furst graders we had to work hard To get good marks on our furst report card Of course we all got A s and Could anyone say that she got a Wuth Suster Ann Maureen as our Duck and Jane were the outstandung feature There was Elussa oh who could want more Than to sut un the furst seat and answer the door? Carol Morgan one of the gurls Was the envy of everyone wuth her pretty curls Maureen Sulluvan never uttered a word She kept structly to the rule of beung seen and not heard Then Euleen and Audrey came skuppung un Almost late sand Suster wuth a grun I O I . So to the front of the room they were shown And the little table became thelr new home Then Into the suxth grade we were sent To learn about decimals and what they meant One thang that was different practically every day Was the changing of the desks a dnfferent way The slnglng class now became un For we had accompanlment to the songs that were sung Barbara Coffey a sweet ltte ass Was then the youngest of the class The new slxth grader called Lorraune Came to school In sunshine or ram Another McGovern lolned us that year Freckled faced Sally Nancy s sister dear The follownng year we learned hnstory Taught by ever faithful Sister Alphonse Marne During that seventh grade hlstory class Wtll anyone forget the pickle that was passed? Jean Patrxck skupped ID her face all abeam The star to be on our volley ball team Then came Leona through the gates To meet her future classmates Grammar school had passed so ast Mighty eighth graders we were at last Slster Cathernne Theresa was almost an author made Wnth her book entitled Sprung Comes to the Etghth Grade The bug events of thus year as we know Were Father Mullen s religion e one and only newcomer lest we forget Was Joan Anzoll who as wnth us yet As graduation day came near We had to decide on what we would wear The dress that we picked was really a flop Wuth the bustle In back and the cape on top AS FRESHMEN OUR EGOS RECEIVED A GREAT BLOW For we were no 'onger the stars of the show This we reallzed as we entered the gate And had to bow to the Seniors so great , , . . f , , , . ,, . f ' ll , .
