A STUDY IN LATIN I First year Latin takes us back to the beginnings of the Roman Em- pire---its mythical foundation on the seven hills, as told in the Aeneid g to the rise of the Caesarsgto the Age of Augustus, which brought forth such men as Archias, the poet, and Pompey, as mentioned by Cicero in his immortal orations.
