A STUDY IN LATIN I First year Latin takes us back to the beginnings of the Roman Em- pire---its mythical foundation on the seven hills, as told in the Aeneid g to the rise of the Caesarsgto the Age of Augustus, which brought forth such men as Archias, the poet, and Pompey, as mentioned by Cicero in his immortal orations. A SCENE FROM LATIN II Caesar might have frightened the Helvetians, but he can't daunt this group in second year Latin. ' 4 THE ROAD THROUGH OTHER LANDS FRENCH HIGHLIGHTS THIS GROUP In the study of French, we learn of the land of romance and of saints.
