The holiday programs are always very well received by the faculty and the student body. For the first time in quite a few years. this year's choir is presenting an operetta. Many hours of hard work and exhausting rehearsals went into Gilbert and Sullivan's Nl-he Mikadofi ln addition to school functions, the choir performs, upon request, at social activities in Norwich. The increase in membership this year has enabled us to attempt more difficult music. The May Festival in Binghamton is one of the highlights of the year. This year's enrollment is thirty-three. Starting the year with low funds, the class collected dues and sponsored a dance to earn money. They also prepared a Christmas box for a needy family and put on a pep session which was enjoyed by all. Their first major class activity was an attempt to defeat the sophomores in the traditional interclass games. The first year slipped by more rapidly than expected and the freshmen find they are no longer novices. They now look forward to an equally successful sophomore year. Gibson Advisor P Hendricks Treasurer SEATED: Wickham, President: V. Gilmour, Secretaryg D. Ecceleston, Vice-President, Mr Ah, . . . Wisdom? The annual election of class officers started the sophomore activities in the fall of 1958. The sophomore pep session was a highlight of the first term. The tenth grade was well represented in all sports, music. debate. and other extracurricular activities of high school life. The class of ,61 had a successful magazine sale, with everyone co-operating and doing his best. All in all, with Mrs. Christman as advisor. the sophomore class had an enjoyable and successful year.
