THE 5 AT the beginning of this school year Cynthia and Sylvester came into being as a theme for the gossip columns that have appeared in the school newspaper. Sylvester is the little scamp of a mouse who picks up local news in his tours of the school. Cynthia, a Cole black cat, roams the seventh and eighth grade classrooms looking for iuicy tidbits and chasing Sylvester. They have been invited to show you through the l952 Signal. We hope you are pleasantly amused with their antics as they present the classes and their activities. i952 Declzmizbn DONALD JOHN STRACK I T is only fitting that this year's annual be dedicated to the memory of a beloved classmate and a friend to all in this school. Don always had a cheerful smile and a pleasant word for everyone. Not only was he an out- standing student, but also a willing participant in many extra-curricular activities. 2 LOOKING down into the heart of the city of Norwalk, the eye of the keen observer will follow the line of the main street through the business district to the buildings of Norwalk High School. There, under the direction of the five members of the board of education and the supervision of the superinten- dent and the principal, a program of liberal education is carried on. Twenty-eight faculty members, each qualified in his own field, conduct the day-by-day classes that provide that background of knowledge so necessary to make good citizens for the community.
