Each a princess, Une a queen Homecoming 1968, an entire week filled with surprises and fun. An apple bobbing, banana eating, egg throwing, cracker dropping, bean race of laughter. The snack contest champions, Deanna Egger and her escort Tom Sass. Each day a presentation of a necklace and corsage was made to the reigning princess of the day. Friday brought an enthusiastic crowd ready for the big game after a spirited assembly, pantomiming the theme Up, Up and Away. Then the night arrived. Tense, but filled with excitement, each princess circled the track before the half- time ceremonies. Each was nervous but radiant with happiness. The long pause became almost an eternity before Lynne Bottema was named Homecoming Queen 1968. A crown, a bouquet, and the traditional kiss from S. B. President, Louie Albidrez, began the memories for Lynne as she happily led her court off the field. Later Lynne and her Court reigned over the Homecoming Dance, attended by NHS students and alumni. At left, Queen Lynne Bottema receives a Homecoming bouquet from Senior V. P. Errol Calder. Below, Princesses Sue Blew, Deanna Egger, Debora Egger, and Patty Tsubokawa smile to cheering crowds as they circle the track before the half-time activities.
