Civilization began, Education began The Vocational Building, most recent edition to our school plant, houses all lifJl111TlCI'Ci1l1 and lndustrizil Art courses. In 1943 the elementary huilding was added in an effort to accommodzite the increasing enroll- ment caused hy service people and war workers moving here with their families. More :md more students became Norviewites, and Pl vocational and C0l111llCl'iC2l1 building was lregun in 1947 for occupation the next year. Our school also in- cludes two Home liconoinics cottages :md four huts. Now our sprawling school yard looks like the campus of a small college. The gymnasium is the central gathering place Lifter- noons after school hours and :it seven for the hnsket- hall games. The transfer of Broad Creek High students here for the '47-'48 session and the beginning of the 12-year school system increased the enroll- ment to over two thousand. Growing as the school grows, the community is proud of it's many old businesses and it'S own post office. lt looks into the future to sec itself as at small city with Z1 big ultzi-modern high school. These are the Boards of Directors Gfdmilzbs fmfion The doors open and we see a teacher point- ing at a map with his ruler. He smiles, and asks, What can I do for you? This typifies the help- ful attitude of Norview teachers. In the auditor- ium We see a teacher at the piano, playing the Norview song as the students come in. Back- stage there's a sponsor, giving last minute in- structions for the assembly program. A history teacher smiles and proudly shakes hands with some parents at a PTA meeting. This will give you a mental picture of how well these actors fill their parts as the administration.
