This year ' s orchestra with its many fine members has been directed by Mr. Karl Gombert. They have been in three concerts and have been a credit to our school. Mr. Gombert, who taught at Weisser Park last year, has been doing a fine job with all the bands and the orchestra. Entertain Throughout the Year This year ' s seventh grade band is showing great progress. Cardinals may look forward to a great concert band next year. Many students participated in the NISBOVA con- test and did very well. In the violin trio Barbara Purdy, Susan Timbrook, and Marsha Wagner received superior ratings. In the piano solo, Bonnie Studebaker was awarded an excellent rating, and in the violin duet Sue Hollopeter and Sandy Jesse received good ratings.

The 1965-1966 concert choir, under the direction of Mr. Robert E. Coyle, has greatly improved over the year. They have participated in three concerts and have sung at school assemblies. During the absence of Mr. Coyle, Mr. John Bechtelheimer graciously directed the vocal classes, concert choir, and the seventh grade choir. Musicians of Choir and Orchestra The seventh grade choir worked diligently during music classes and seventh period on Thursday evenings. The purpose of the choir is to become acquainted with the techniques of music. This practice prepares the members for the concert choir next year.
