Drama Club Goes Modern at Thanksgiving The Speech and Drama Club entertained the school in November by presenting Thanksgiving A La Carte. Many weeks of preparation and 7:30 A.M. practices took place before the play was presented to the school. The final result was well worth the time spent in preparation !

The conversational Spanish club, sponsored by Mr. Allen, practices speaking in Spanish. They also learn about and discuss the cultures of Spanish speaking countries. The members of this club are as follows: FRONT ROW: Betsy Dean, Holly Hontz, Candy Caldwell, Carole Horstman, and Julie Hollingsworth. MIDDLE ROW: Rebecca Hon, Elaine Nickell, Nancy Scheeler, Holly Pliett, Keith Barnes, Tina Dixon, and Mr. Al- len. TOP ROW: Janet Rice, Calvin Kuebler, Steve Dennis, Claire Hayner, and Kathy Sommer. The reading and creative writing clubs are spon- sored by Mrs. Elster and Mrs. Loggins. In the reading club students receive help in specific areas of difficulty. Students may be referred to this club by their teachers. The creative writing club practices difTerent types of writing. The members of these clubs are Michele Allan, Kurt Blessing, Marguerite Dunham, Deborah Sherwood, Jane Nicodemus, and Judy Stoops. Students Further Knowledge in Activities Two hundred nineteen eighth grade students participated in the yearly PREP (Pupil Record of Educational Progress) test this year. The test was administered in the gym Januaiy 10 and 11. Mr. Bragg and the eighth grade teachers supervised and proctored.
