WITH NEW ACTIVITIES The girls' intramural and inter-scholastic teams participated in volleyball. basketball. soft- ball, and soccer at noons and after school. Bar- bara Errett was judged the winner in the annual posture contest and was one of Northwestern's Attendants and escorts wait for Jo Ellen to announce the 1960 entrants in the county Posture Contest at Sweetheart Queen- Tecumseh in December. Cake auctions held at -I f the basketball games were a new feature of the year. The Mother and Daughter Banquet, honor- ing the girls who received their athletic awards, and a dinner at Ker-Deen Inn for this year's and next year's cabinet members ended the season. Cafe D'amour created a romantic French setting for the couples who attended the Sweet- heart Dance, February 13, and danced to the ty music of Freddie Pearels Orchestra. MODERN DANCERS INTERPRET ANCIENT DRAMAS The modern Dance Recital, Rlarch 24, was the interpretation of Lysistrata and Antigone. a greek comedy, and tragedy. A co-ed group, on November 11, demonstrated a dance at the Clark County Teachefs Meeting held at Shawnee High School. The GAA sponsored a master Dance Demonstra- tion on December 3. by hir. Charles Vleidman, a well-known New York dancer. A County Dance Festival was held on March 24. Girls participate in a square dance at the annual county dance festival. 1 I s Expressing comedy and tragedy through bodily movements proves to be a challenging experi- ence.
